-
Are South Sea Cats suitable for those with limited mobility? These vessels are not wheelchair accessible and all off-boat activities require the customer to be able to climb on and off the boat using ladders. This process can be challenging for those with mobility impairments, making boarding and navigating safely difficult. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage guests with specific accessibility needs to contact us for further information or alternative options.
-
What is the maximum capacity that can travel on each trip? There is a maximum of 36 passengers on each of the half day trips.
-
What happens if the weather is bad?Unless the weather is deemed unsafe by South Sea Cats management (in which case the trips will not operate) the trips will continue to operate.
-
Do you leave the boat during the trip? You don't go on land for the morning half-day trip, only leaving the boat to swim or snorkel at the reefs. Note that the water will be deep and you will not be able to touch the bottom. The same goes for the afternoon trip except when the weather permits, there will be time spend at a sand cay.
-
Are there any additional purchases once onboard? There are no additional purchases available onboard the vessels
-
What should I bring on the half day trips?Come wearing your swimwear as there are limited changing facilities onboard and bring a towel, hat, and sunscreen. Be sure to bring only what you need as there is limited storage onboard.

What is reef safe sunscreen?Sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate (common UV-blocking chemicals) have been shown to cause coral bleaching. When choosing a sunscreen, ensure it has the words "Reef-safe" or "Reef-friendly". These work equally as well but don't harm the environment.
-
Do the Ride & Slide trips have a planned route each day?We have a number of different routes available to us depending on the wind direction, weather conditions, and tide so each day's route will differ accordingly.
-
What seating is available? There is seating in the main cabin for up to 40 people which is where guests sit while we are underway. Once at anchor, the top deck also has additional seating along with access to the inflatable slide.
-
Are there bathrooms onboard?Yes, there is a bathroom onboard but limited changing facilities so we recommend that customers come dressed in their swimwear.
-
Are there lifejackets available? We have lifejackets onboard for all and customers may wear them at their own discretion. For those who want to, we also have life jackets and other flotation devices for people to swim/snorkel in.
-
How does the slide work? The slide is inflatable and is stored up on the top deck of the vessel. Once at anchor, our crew will unroll the slide and inflate it so that it extends from the top deck into the water. Customers are then able to slide down into the waters below.
-
Will I get wet on the boat? These brand-new vessels have open sides to allow the cool ocean breeze to filter through the cabin as we speed through the islands. If the weather is bad, the clear side panels will be rolled down to stop the water from entering the cabin. Of course, the object of the trip is to snorkel at ocean reefs so once you exit the water, you can sit up on the top deck to dry off in the sun.
